Delegates from the Hong Kong Ministry of Education visited LaSalle Springs Middle School in Wildwood on Thursday.  

The delegates were in the United States to learn more about Rockwood School District's guidance and counseling department and program.  Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) representatives arranged for the visit because Rockwood maintains the only nationally recognized guidance and counseling program in Missouri, said district officials.    

"Rockwood has an excellent counseling program, and it's wonderful to have the opportunity to showcase our work and share best practices," said Sharon Sevier, Rockwood's director of guidance and counseling, in a school district statement. 

The Hong Kong delegates also visited with students and counselors at Rockwood's Marquette High School in Chesterfield and Stanton Elementary School in Fenton.
