Students at Green Pines Elementary School in Wildwood, as well as those across the Rockwood School District, celebrated International Walk to School Day on Wednesday by walking and riding their bikes to school.

The rain held off as students and their families followed established routes to their neighborhood schools, indicated a district spokesperson.

Green Pines Elementary students and their families were greeted by teachers and staff with smiles and cheers. Students who rode buses to school also were able to participate by either walking the track upon arrival to school or being dropped off at a designated stop along the route so they could walk the rest of the way to school.
