Get Out: Things to Do May 12 - 15

A Show Choir Year-End Concert, Wine Bar Grand Opening, Middle School Out Bash, Family Fun Night, ROTC Barbecue, Taste of Italy Wine Show, Maximized Living Makeover, Annual EMS Day and Fair and an Auto Show -- whew, what a weekend!

 
  • Rockwood Show Choir Year-End Concert
    Where: Rockwood Summit High School; Saturday, May 14, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, May 15, at 3 p.m.
    Why Go: Watch talented kids in grades 2 through 8 from throughout the Rockwood School District perform in an American Bandstand-themed show!
    Pricing: $5 per ticket. Toddlers free.
  • Wine Bar Grand Opening
    Where: Wines of Wildwood; Friday and Saturday, May 13 and May 14, times vary.
    Why Go: Check out new offerings of wines by the glass, along with an array of artisan beers for you to enjoy or create your own six pack to take home. There also are grand opening prizes to win!
    Pricing: Free.
  • Taste of Italy Wine Show
    Where: Wildwood Schnucks; Thursday, May 12, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
    Why Go: Go spend an evening tasting the wines of Italy and food pairings as well. There will also be the "Cracking of the Parm," an event not to miss!
    Pricing: Free.
  • Middle School Out Bash
    Where: Eureka Community Center; Friday, May 13, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
    Why Go: Middle schoolers, come celebrate the start of the summer with the Eureka Parks and Recreation Department.  Students from grades 5 through 8 are welcome to dance the night away!  
    Pricing: $8 per person.
  • Family Fun Night at the Whittle Shortline Railroad
    Where: Whittle Shortline Railroad; Friday, May 13, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
    Why Go: Enjoy the Whittle Shortline Railroad store and train cookie decorating, paint workshops, face painting, raffles, tons of train play and more!
    Pricing: Free.
  • Maximized Living Makeover
    Where: West County Community Church; Saturday, May 14, from 9 a.m. to noon.
    Why Go: This life-changing event teaches the Maximized Living 5 Essentials to become the champion that you have always dreamed of!
    Pricing: $40 for the first ticket, $20 for additional tickets. Call for more details.
  • Lafayette High School Air Force Junior ROTC Barbecue
    Where: Lafayette High School; Saturday, May 14, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
    Why Go: Help support the Peter Navarro Patriot Scholarship Fund. He is a fallen soldier who died overseas, serving in Iraq.
    Pricing: $6 a plate; additional donations also accepted.
