This year's Geggie Elementary 5K Walk/Run will be April 27, per approval at the Feb. 5 Eureka board of aldermen meeting.

Eureka alderman Don Beckerle, Ward 3, said the city's trails committee members were coordinating with Pat Grimshaw, physical education teacher at Geggie, to redirect the walk/run route to line up with the new Route 66 trail.

City administrator Craig Sabo reminded aldermen that last year, the city's insurance requirements were waived for this event.
