Fatal Crash on Wednesday Involves Two Eureka Drivers
A Wednesday morning motorcycle and van accident in Jefferson County left one man dead and the other driver injured.

A Wednesday morning head-on collision between a 64-year-old motorcycle rider and a 68-year-old van driver on Route W in Jefferson County, left the Harley Davidson rider pronounced dead at the scene of the accident by a Eureka Fire Protection District paramedic.
The accident happened just 89 feet south of River Ends Drive, according to a Missouri Highway Patrol report. It occurred at 8:40 a.m.
Both men involved in the accident were Eureka residents.
The 2009 Harley Davidson softail was driven by Allyn Chiolero. A 1997 Dodge caravan driven by Kenneth Holt failed to negotiate a curve to the right on Route W and crossed the center line before striking Chiolero head-on.
Chiolero was headed northbound; Holt was headed southbound.
Holt was taken to St. Clare Medical Center by a Eureka ambulance crew.
The highway patrol report indicated both men were wearing safety devices.

this curve is death, how many more lives does it take, i heard the state is purchasing a house near this curve to expand the road correct, going from eureka to house springs, its like i made it thru the curve again,

If people slow down to maneuver the curve correctly maybe they wouldn't be in the on coming lanes. I've been driving it for years & have not have a problem

People need to SLOW down when coming to that curve,I am a school bus driver
and i drive slowly around that curve either north or south bound,you be sursprised at how many fly around that.And I agree that the curve should be straightened but the bottom line is that people need to slow down and if they are in a hurry leave earlier,dont be on the phone,putting makeup on

Dot, I have to say I feel for you bus drivers. Not only because of the selfish drivers, but also the spoiled children you have to deal with every day. I can't tell you how many times I've followed a bus to a school and brought out the administrator to address the kids on the bus jumping around. It can't be easy to drive these little brats around, especially with very little support from the parental community.
