A 29-year-old Pacific resident died after the truck he was driving left the road and struck a tree at 12:15 a.m. Sunday.
Benjamin Cochran was driving a 1998 Ford Explorer westbound on Bend road, when his truck went off the right side of the highway just east of Green River Trail in Franklin County.
Cochran was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident by a Meramec Ambulance paramedic, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report. The report also indicated Cochran was not wearing his safety belt. His body was taken to the St. Louis Morgue by a Russells Funeral Home driver.
His truck was totaled, and was towed away from the accident area.
