Eureka Hills Branch Library to Host Celebration

Stop by the Eureka Hills Branch Library on Jan. 10 to participate in a special event to mark the opening of the new location at 156 Eureka Towne Center.

St. Louis County Library officials invite everyone to join them when they host a grand opening celebration of the new Eureka Hills Branch at 10:30 a.m. on Jan. 10.

The Eureka Hills Branch moved last month into a new building located at 156 Eureka Towne Center (in the Walmart Shopping Center), which is twice the size of the previous branch.

Festivities for the library's open house will include remarks by Eureka Mayor Kevin Coffey, as well as library representatives. Activities throughout the day will include giveaways and a special story time at 10:45 a.m.

Free refreshments will be provided by members of The Eureka Project, a grass roots initiative launched some Eurekans interested in improving the space and diversity of materials and options available for all ages.

The new Eureka Hills Branch is nearly twice the size of the previous location. It features comfortable seating throughout, a community meeting room and designated areas for teens and children.

The new space enabled the library staff to expand their collection of library materials; 30 percent larger than the previous building. Eight computers are available for public use, along with multiple outlets for laptop users accessing the library’s free Wi-Fi and a couple of computers devoted to children's use.

The grand opening was an exciting day for Eureka. The new and expanded branch of the library is well laid out and will provide an excellent spot to check out books, use the computers or sit and read.

@Joe Blanner: Very much agreed! The new corner area is a nice office-away-from-office spot at which to work, too.

Great point! I never thought of that. I now have a new favorite office away from the office work spot. Thanks!
