Gorgeous weather is making many of us in Wildwood and Eureka want to trot outside and enjoy it with our horses. Fox 2 News on Wednesday featured a local horse arena business as a place for upcoming summer camps of a different nature.
For this segment, Fox 2 reporter Angie Mock was taught how to ride at Ridgefield Arena in Wildwood. They touted an equestrian camp as "something different for all ages."
Ridgefield owner Tracey Ryan said two summer camps will be held in June; two in July; and one in August. She said there are English and Western riding options, plus trail riding for those uneasy about jumping with a horse.
Ryan said the equestrian camps teach young people responsibility while they are having fun and learning a new sport.
She said there also are Ladies' Night Out events for all ages of riders.
The fee for Ridgefield's summer equestrian camp is $375 for a Tuesday through Thursday experience. Ryan said campers range from equine novices to equestrians who show in the A Circuit.
Ridgefield Arena is located at 1410 Ridge Road in Wildwood. It is a riding academy, but horse shows and clinics also are conducted there.
