David Freese Needs Wildwood's All-Star Vote

Major League Baseball representatives released early tabulations this week for the 2012 All-Star baseball game, and former Lafayette High baseball athlete David Freese could use hometown support.

 

When Major League Baseball and MLB.com staffs released preliminary tallies this week for the upcoming 83rd All-Star Game, Wildwood's Lafayette High hometown hero and World Series MVP David Freese was 32,000 votes beind the Mets' third baseman David Wright in the overall tallies.

Fans can vote a maximum of 25 times, as dictated by each person's email address. Voting ends at 11:59 PM ET on Thursday, June 28. 

Matt Kemp and Josh Hamilton are the leading vote-getters so far. St. Louis Cardinals' catcher Yadier Molina had received the largest number of votes to date for that position.

From July 1 to July 5, fans can return to MLB.com to cast their 2012 All-Star Game Final Vote for the final player for each League's All-Star roster.

The All-Star game will be played on July 10 in Kansas City.
