One of the top-selling country artists will be in Eureka next month. Tickets are $20 each.
Eureka United Methodist Church leaders are hosting country singer and songwriter John Berry at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 9 at the church. Tickets are $20 each, which can be picked up at the door or secured through U.S. mail in advance.
Berry had multiple platinum and gold albums, 19 "Billboard Hot Country Hits," and multiple Grammy, CMA, ACM awards and nominations. He recorded the No. 1 single "Your Love Amazes Me" from 1994 and six additional Top Ten hits: "What's In It for Me," "You and Only You," "Standing on the Edge of Goodbye," "I Think About It All the Time," "Change My Mind," and "She's Taken a Shine."
His wife, Robin, will join him as backup singer. He wrote and dedicated a song "Sanctuary," to her. He often said it contains his favorite line he's ever sung: "You're the prayer that mothers whisper every night for their sons everywhere."
They will share their faith story and how they believe God's love guided them through tough times as well as their marriage. They live on a 72-acre farm in Georgia.
Berry has been an active recording artist since 1979.
