Coolest Dog Rolls into Mardi Growl
It's hard to not agree that one, small Yorkie was 'THE Big Dog' at Sunday's Mardi Growl in Eureka. This is how she rolls!
Cocoa's life was likely very different before being adopted as a rescue dog from the Animal Protective Association of Missouri by Mike and Sue Rhoda of Pacific, MO. Now Cocoa leads a dog's life, enjoying the breeze while traveling, but not by hanging her head out the window of a moving vehicle like other dogs.
Cocoa rides in style, complete with her own customized goggles.
"This is how she rides," said Mike, beaming down at the small puff of brown fur dangling on his chest.
The Rhodas said they were not aware of Sunday's Mardi Growl parade in Eureka until they pulled into town. Once there, though, they thought why not participate. They like the dog-related events in Eureka, mentioning that Cocoa had won second place in Eureka's Halloween dog contest.
Mike was allowed to roll Cocoa and his motorcycle through the parade area for the judges, but not to start up the bike.
"She's a great dog, and we'd like to get her on Letterman or something like that," he said.

Thank you so much, Patch reader, Karen, for loading a photo of your "BatDog" who also competed in the Mardi Growl parade. That was a fun costume!
