Bargains Await at Three-Day Rummage Sale

Eureka United Methodist Church hosts annual three-day sale this weekend to fund youth mission trips.

In the mood to hunt for cost-effective trinkets? Head to the Eureka United Methodist Church, starting Thursday afternoon from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. This weekend is the annual rummage sale held by its church members to fund youth mission trips.

Hours of the sale for Saturday are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., while Sunday hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Saturday is the popular "bag sale" day for which the first bag of items selected can be purchased for $3. Additional bags for the same purchaser on Saturday are only $1. Volunteer Tina Butler said bags are supplied by the church, and are the averaged-sized grocery store bags.

This sale does not include computers, televisions or exercise equipment, but does offer items such as clothes, appliances, bikes, furniture, shoes, toys, kitchenware, books and videos.

The church is located off Central Avenue at Third Street. Sale items are in the Fellowship Hall on the lower level, south-facing side of the building.

Eureka Methodist church members, such as Charlie Emery, said the annual sale has occurred for at least the last 10 years.
