Babler State Park in Wildwood Among 11 Now Offering Wireless Connections
More Missouri park teams may offer free Internet access by this summer, per indications in an Associated Press article from Jefferson City.
Dr. Edmund A. Babler Memorial State Park in Wildwood is now a 'wired park.'
Eleven Missouri state parks now offer free wireless Internet access at campgrounds, according to an Associated Press article published in the Belleville News Democrat.
State Parks Director Bill Bryan stated in the article that campers asked over a period of time for ways to stay connected to the online world while also trying to get away to the parks for relaxation.
Wireless Internet access now was added to 11 Missouri parks based on a 2010 survey that indicated people would camp more often, and stay longer, if Internet connections were available, as referenced in the article.
In addition to the local Babler Park, the other 10 Missouri park campgrounds with wireless access include:
- Bennett Spring near Lebanon;
- Montauk near Salem;
- Roaring River near Cassville;
- Table Rock near Branson;
- Meramec near Sullivan;
- Baker near Patterson;
- Johnson's Shut-Ins near Middlebrook;
- Onondaga Cave near Leasburg;
- Long Branch near Macon; and
- Finger Lakes near Columbia.
