SSM Breast Care to recognize Breast Cancer Awareness Month with colorful public activities at each hospital
When it comes to breast care, awareness of prevention and early detection are helping to save more lives than ever before. In recognition of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, SSM Breast Care will host the following activities across the SSM Health Care – St. Louis entities throughout October. The public is invite to come partake in the events.
SSM Health Care – St. Louis campuses turned pink
All SSM Health Care – St. Louis campuses will be turned pink from Oct. 1 to Oct. 31. The amount of pink and what’s turned pink will vary by campus. Employees at each campus will wear pink on Fridays during October.
Breast Cancer Memorial/Tribute Tree
White trees will be in each SSM Health Care – St. Louis hospital cafeteria. Employees, patients and visitors will be able to place a pink ribbon on the tree to recognize someone who has lost their struggle with breast cancer or is currently going through breast cancer treatment. Ribbons are free and can be picked up at the cafeteria checkout.
SayCheez photo booth
Each SSM Health Care – St. Louis campus will receive a visit from the SayCheez Photo Booth. Photo opportunities will be open to all employees, patients and visitors. Everyone will be encouraged to show off their pink by wearing props and outfits. All participants will receive a SSM Breast Care logoed printout of their photos.

“A Night with the Girls” Events
Back by popular demand, SSM Breast Care will host two “A Night with the Girls” events at SSM St. Clare Health Center and SSM DePaul Health Center. Have your most personal questions answered by a group of women’s health experts. This event includes chair massages, paraffin dips, refreshments and more.

Thursday, October 18 – 6:30 to 8 p.m. – SSM DePaul Health Center – May Center

‘Fight Like A Girl’ T-shirts
All month long, “Fight Like A Girl” t-shirts will be for sale in hospital gift shops and across the SSM Health Care – St. Louis entities. Shirts are $10 and available in pink and black. All sale proceeds will help provide care for underserved patients at all SSM Breast Care locations.
Mammograms
Have you had your annual mammogram? Take time to take care of yourself this October. Schedule your yearly mammogram at one of the six convenient SSM Breast Care locations today!
Remember, screening mammograms do not require a physician referral.
