The City of Eureka Parks and Recreation Department is accepting applications for the part-time position of Athletic Field Maintenance Supervisor.  There is no application deadline and interviews will be conducted periodically until the position is filled.  Applicants shall perform semi-skilled to skilled labor in various aspects of athletic field maintenance and the maintenance and beautification of City parks, playgrounds and other facilities. Applicants will be responsible for the supervision and scheduling of athletic fields staff.  Applicants will also assist in implementing various City special events.  This position will require evenings, weekends and some holidays.

Preference will be given to a person with previous experience in the fields of athletic field maintenance, landscaping or grounds keeping. A minimum two (2) years of experience in park and grounds maintenance preferred. Must possess knowledge of landscape construction and turf management.  Applicants must be capable of working with light to medium duty equipment such as a tractor with loader, irrigation, aeration, seeding and fertilization equipment.  Applicants should be capable of following direction, but still be able to make sound decisions and use good judgment without direction.  Applications should also be a self starter with the ability to follow through on a given task from beginning to end.
