Eureka High School Students Begin a "Donate Life" Community Service Project
Community Service classes at Eureka High School are working on a “Donate Life” service project this semester. Today, they heard a presentation given by Eddie Buck of Eureka, who lost his 17-year-old son Kevin "Kevo" Buck in an automobile crash in 2010.
Through the gift of Kevin’s organs, the lives of 8 people were saved, and 50 other individuals were also affected through lifesaving tissues. Before his tragic death, Kevin was a student at Eureka High School.
Buck applauded the students for taking on this very worthwhile effort.
Students plan to learn more about this issue in their classes, taught by Coach Ferrell Shelton. They hope to inform other students and the community and will be hosting a signup table in the commons during lunch periods.
