The Community Emergency Response Team (C.E.R.T.) is made up of volunteers that have completed a course of study outlined by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS). This program is conducted to train communities in providing assistance to fire, police and medical professionals following a major disaster. The training consists of disaster preparedness, fire suppression, medical operation, light search and rescue operations, psychology and team organization, and disaster simulation.
